The CHAYCC participates in activities throughout the year. This allows the members to enjoy each season for its uniqueness in regards to changes in the environment and wildlife, and what activities are available in the different seasons.

Whether its hikes through a forest, exploring a pond, or learning about the environment, one thing is constant, our commitment to CONSERVATION. This is a MAJOR principle of the club. Members will be shown how even one person can make an impact on the environment, and whether it is positive or negative, it is a choice that each individual is responsible for. Working side-by-side with other local organizations, CHAYCC members will participate in conservation projects such as Ontario’s “Pitch In”, tree planting/shielding, etc.

Outdoor sporting also plays a big part in the club’s criteria. Fishing, canoeing, and archery are all examples of some activities the members can learn. All activities are taught by experienced persons, and SAFETY COMES FIRST. For this reason, there are certain safety courses that the members must “pass” before being allowed to partake in the activity itself. One example is a water safety course, prior to going canoeing or kayaking.

Educational programs are available for members who wish it. Hunting and firearm safety are examples of courses that can be taught. ALL courses, however, require a minimum number of participants.

It is important for CHAYCC members to be active within the community. For this reason, members are responsible for determining how they can help. Whether it is hosting a food drive, or holding a fund-raiser for another organization, the members will learn how to help those in need.

Some of the highlights and benefits of being a Get Outdoor Club through the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters are the OFAH’s Conference in March and the Summer Camps that the OFAH offers. For more information on these activities please visit the OFAH website. The CHAYCC is part of Zone J of the OFAH. Every summer the Zone hosts a free Youth Campout at a different location. This enables different clubs from the surrounding areas to meet one another and make new friends. For more information on the Zone J Youth Campout please visit http://ofahzonej.tripod.com/ .
